Here it is a mixture of different approaches. The artworks vary from being playfully colorful to being restrictive and buttoned up, and show that variety is a norm in her artistic expression. The Latin expression "Semper reformanda", which means "always changing", reflects her philosophy of art.
She calls many of these paintings and drawings pictograms. Humor & art are often connected, many times with great seriousness. The Laban series are also simple pictograms.
